This past summer I had the incredible experience of visiting Paris, France, the city of love. Paris is known for the Eiffel Tower, museums, the seine river, and much more. I was able to see all this right in front of me and it was an unforgettable experience.
Food in Paris
Before the trip, I honestly was most excited about the food I would try while in Paris. During my trip, I had the most delicious food I’ve ever tasted. I had many different types of pastas from the cutest bistros. Il Sorrentino was by far the best restaurant because of the pasta, and when you step onto the street the eiffel tower is right at eye view. We witnessed the waiter mixing pasta noodles in a huge real parmesan bowl with a torch, we knew we had to have it. The restaurant Pink Mamma, seen all over the internet, blew us away with their tea time menu which included pastries, bread with cheese, and the teas/drinks. The restaurant itself was beautiful with its plants and art decor. Every night, we were sure to stop by the street vendors for sweet and savory crepes.
Activities in Paris
One of the most popular museums is the Louvre Museum which is a treasure trove of art and culture. Seeing the Mona Lisa and the Venus De Milo left me in awe. Renting a scooter and riding it under the majestic Eiffel Tower was unforgettable. I remember I had a huge smile on my face that just wouldn't leave. We took a scenic boat ride on the Seine River where we saw breathtaking views of the city. This boat ride allowed us to see a beautiful view of the tower as it sparkled and many historical monuments. We saw the Notre Dame Cathedral, a masterpiece of Gothic architecture. The boat passed under the Bridge of Love full of love locks, where we closed our eyes and made a wish.
Claude Monet’s Gardens in Giverny
For a quick day trip we adventured outside of the city on a train to a small town called Giverny. The Monet Gardens is an iconic garden designed by the famous artist Claude Monet who actually lived in Giverny. His series of paintings that are best known are the water lilies in his garden pond and the Japanese bridge. Seeing the pond in person was by far my favorite. I easily could have spent all day at the garden attraction, it was insanely beautiful. The gift shop was so tempting with the most beautiful pieces of art on mugs, bags, canvases, and more. Outside the garden we accidentally stumbled upon a huge sunflower garden, they were the biggest sunflowers I’ve ever seen. Visiting Monet’s gardens was definitely the highlight of my trip.
My trip to Paris is something I will cherish forever and each memory kept getting better than the last. The city definitely left a mark on me. If you have the chance to go to Paris, please take it!
